Newer/Older

I am comparing two differerent directories of "My Documents". Pane 1indicates that one particular subdirectory has status "changed" and "older". Opening the subdirectories indicates a change in a sub-sub directory with status "changed" and "newer". Getting alle the way down to the particular file that has changed I see that the most recent file is in my Pane 1 directory. I would expect that Pane 1 should have the status "changed" and "newer" for the subdirectory for that is most recent. Where do I go wrong?

It's hard to tell without seeing the issue. Could you post your screenshots?
