Can't save HTML Diff report, difftempl_v.htm not found

Post by swanaselja »

Hello,

I am using ExamDiff Pro 3.5.1.1, and I cannot save my diff report.

From the Files menu, Report, Save HTML Diff Report ...

I get a standard Save As dialog, then hit OK, and I get this error dialog:

Could not open file C:\DOCUME~1\SWANAS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\is-KINTF.tmp\difftempl_v.htm to read!: The system cannot find the path specified. (Error 3).

Behind this dialog is another saying:
Creating HTML diff report...

Can someone help me with this? I can find no workaround.

The same thing happens in ExamDiff version 3.4 (I tried it there first, then upgraded to 3.5 hoping to pick up a bug fix for this problem.) (I did a complete uninstall using the control panel between 3.4 and 3.5).

Please make sure that HTML Template Files settings under Options | HTML point to proper locations. Typically they should be C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro\difftempl_v.htm and C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro\difftempl_h.htm.

Wow, yes, that fixed my problem. Thanks for the very quick response!

I wonder why the installer didn't pick the right default location for these templates ... Perhaps that's a bug.

Perhaps. Could you try to reproduce it?
