I have just downloaded a trial version of ftpvc.
Maybe I am doing something wrong, as although my collegue (in another part of the country) can see the files I have uploaded and checked out he can not see the action and user information and can not check anything out.
Do we need something else set up.

This usually happen Project Options | Startup | "FtpVC directory (relative to the remote directory)" setting on your colleague's PC is different from yours. Another reason why files don't show action and user information is that "Update status of files after reading directory" option on the same Options page is not set. In the latter case your collegue should use View | Refresh command.
