13.0.0.8 crash

Post by MSpagni »

Comparing the two (presumably identical) files included in the attached zip causes various odd things to EDP.
The most common result is, soon or later, a crash.

Hmm... Two observations, the files are different and I get no crash (even with your options sent earlier).

Yes, sorry, indeed the files are different.
And maybe, just maybe, I sent you a mail with the crash dump.
I'm not sure because (thanks Google!) my mailer can't work anymore with gmail.
I checked again a few moments before writinh here and sending you the files and the crash seemed repetitive.
Now... it disappeared!
I'll let you know.

Believe me: EDP crashed regularily at least 10 times.
Now... no way.
But I recovered a crash report.
(This should prove I wasn't dreaming. Tired, yes; sleepy, yes; but dreaming, no. )

The crash stack trace points to the new Scope detection code, specifically to an attempt to update the scope tree after editing of one of the compared files. We need a reproducible scenario to debug this but maybe you will have a a better idea now how to reproduce the crash.

I had the same feeling, back then, but it was just a feeling. Nothing certain.
And so far I'm unable to reproduce the problem.
As soon as can get to it I'll let you know, you can bet!
