Is there a guide for writing and configuring EDP plugins?

There's no guide per se but these pages provide a lot of details. Basically, an EDP plug-in is any console program that converts an input file to text.

EDP also has to recognize it as a plugin and associate it with some file types...

I'll check those pages.
