I cannot figure out how to create snapshot of a directory using the GUI? I need a basline to start from. The help is useless.

In order to create a directory snapshot you have to get to the directory comparison view by comparing two directories, then select Directories | Create Snapshot menu command. Alternatively, use Directories | Save Snapshot... command to create a snapshot of either first or the second directory.
