A different compare

Post by MSpagni »

Sometimes, having done a directory compare, I have the need to compare a couple of files in a way different from the "standard" (that is: the default in that moment).
For example, I need to compare that couple of file in binary mode instead of text mode, or with/without plugins.

Please note that in some cases the use of plugins can take a lot of time and it seems that, more often than not, you can't abort a comparison while a plugin is executing. If you're not interested in it you have to wait until the comparison with plugins is finished, then change the relevant option and recompare. A waste of time.

What I suggest is to add some entries in the context menu (the "right click" one): "compare matched in binary/text mode" and "compare matched with/without plugins", more or less like the already present "perform full comparison".

It shouldn't be too difficult and someone can find it useful. (Me, at least. :D )

Sounds good. We'll add the following request to the wish list (with your vote):

Add new commands to the directory comparison context menu: "Compare matched in binary/text mode" and "Compare matched with/without plugins", similar to the already present "Perform full comparison".
