Detail level for difference identification

I'd like to suggest a fourth option for this...
"Lines and words and characters"
I know. To do this you'll need to introduce a new color or something but...
I prefer the "Lines and characters" setting most of the time but when only 1 character has changed, it's often difficult to find it on the line.
I've solved this in the past by changing to "Lines and words" mode temporarily so I can find the difference more easily.
It could be better if both the word diff and the character diff could be differentiated in the same view.
This would be a differentiator because most, if not all, diff programs can't do this.
Of course, "F6" and "Shift-F6" to find the Next/Pref diff in the line are great but because I usually don't need them I forget about them.
