3.2 memory problem

Post by dgallion »

After upgrading to 3.2 I'm having memory problems.

Runing Win2k with 1.5 gig of ram, pagefile size 20meg
At the time 600 meg was in use.

When clicking on a dir to decend into I can get a memory error.

Perhaps it's a typo and your pagefile size is bigger than 20.

If yes, I haven't run into such a problem nor have I seen any reports but perhaps you are using full file comparison mode (all options under 'Dir Comparison | Do not perform full file comparison' are unchecked) and some of your files are extremely large. Or maybe your directories are very large.

If you really have 20 meg pagefile, I think it's too small (according to MSDN, "The recommended minimum size is equivalent to 1.5 times the amount of RAM on your system, and 3 times that figure for the maximum size").

Yes that was 20Meg
With 1.5 gig of ram I don't want a swap file.
And it worked up to now.

It gave me quite a speed up, but I guess I'll try it larger.
