Slim is beautiful?

Post by MSpagni »

I was wondering if the difference indicator at the right of the scroll bars (what you call "color bar") was present or not.
Well, it's present, but its width surreptitiously changed from 6 to 4. Why?
I need to clean my reading glasses...

The toolbars, instead, all of a sudden couldn't fit in a line: they are bigger.
But, as soon as I entered in the customize dialog, they returned at the previous size...

Well, the default is 6. Hard to tell what happened; the only explanation I have is that's what you had in your Registry, saved from a previous run.

Is this reproducible?

But this doesn't explain why I got it only now.

I set it to 10' as an experiment and now it is not visible at all: the space is there but it's all background color.
Is this reproducible?
Well, it seems possible.
I don't know what I did but the toolbar is big again.
Right click on it, select "customize" and, voilà, size restored, as before.

N.B. I don't know if it matters, but... Win XP 32, classic theme.

Sorry but now I'm too tired and sleepy to investigate more.
Bedding time.

One more thing: fully custom toolbar only.
I mean: I use only one toolbar and it's fully custom.

I just tested Build 11.0.1.0 on a 32-bit XP VM, and the color bar looks fine. Here it is at 10 pixels:

As for the toolbars, not sure what I need to do to test. They look fine to me.

BTW, are these new problems?

Re the color bars: I can't say when and how I reduced the width. Very probably it was made by me by mistake.
And for them being all in background color: it's simply because the files are short and fit in a window without scrolling!
I told you I was sleepy... Sorry.

Re the toolbars:
Select two (text) files and compare them: the toolbar is ok (16x16).
Switch to binary compare: the toolbar is 24x24 (my setting; many less icons there so they can be bigger).
Switch back to text: the toolbar stays 24x24 and overflows the screen width.
Click on the toolbar with the right button, select "customize..." and, pronto, the toolbar returns 16x16.

Thanks. The toolbar issue will be fixed in the next build of 11.0.
