Shell extensions

Post by MSpagni »

Just updated ExamDiffPro.
If I try to compare two files (or two directories) using the shell extensions I get: "You have been evaluating ExamDiffPro for 0 days out of 30."
Launching ExamDiffPro, then selecting and comparing: ok.

If your Windows is 64-bit, Explorer is 64-bit as well, and it can only use the 64-bit extension. You need to make sure that the password file is in the folder where ExamDiff.exe (used by the Shell extension) is located.

Well, what I mean is: on Windows XP (32 bit) no problem; on windows 7 (64 bit) instead...
And regarding the file placement: I didn't change anything and I used EDP (up to the last but one beta) without any problem until I updated it.
I'll try to gather more info.

Reinstalled on itself and now it's ok.
Go figure.

Or perhaps I have a suspect.
I updated EDP and Virtualbox in close sequence. Maybe...

Silly me!
I discovered the culprit. By mistake I installed the 32 bit version instead of updating the 64 bit.
Sorry.
