Strange error message in directory compare

I'm trying to do a directory compare with a local directory and an ftp directory, using parallel full file comparison. At the start I get the message "D:\Users\Jennifer\Web Sites\ssarpc.org\ is a directory (ExamDiff Pro tried to append filename to directory name D:\Users\Jennifer\Web Sites\ssarpc.org". I don't understand what the problem is.

Are you comparing a local directory to an FTP directory? If so, is the "Fetch Remote Directory" plug-in enabled as well as the "Use plug-ins in directory comparison" setting under Options | Plug-ins?

Thank you, that was my mistake. I erroneously disabled use of plugins in directory comparison when I should have disabled most of them, but not all (because I just want to know what files are different, not how they are different). Anyway, that got it started. I'll see how it turns out.
