Ignoring... almost
Ignoring... almost
Comparing two text files in which one has tabs and the other has not (only blanks) and checking "ignore white space: all", the difference markers disappear but the lines are still marked as "Changed".
Re: Ignoring... almost
I could not reproduce this (see lines 7 below, space versus tab between "Symbolic" and "Constants").

Re: Ignoring... almost
I'm now unable to replicate it since I modified the files that showed the problem.
It seemed so simple...
I'll try to recreate the situation.
Thanks for now.

Re: Ignoring... almost
Ah, things are never so simple as they seem!
The problem is not (only) in the blank/tabs. The behaviour is far more complicated.
Modify a line (the last one) so that it's "unchanged" and all of a sudden also the previous three lines are shown correctly...
Try with the attached files.

Re: Ignoring... almost
I'm a little confused I'm afraid: what is the incorrect result that you see initially? When I compare your files, I see the last 4 lines as identical, which seems correct to me. A screenshot and your options will help.

Re: Ignoring... almost
To begin with, let me say that the result someitmes depends also on where you come from, a thing that makes me call it a bug.
Detail level: lines and character.
Ignore: nothing.
You can see the difference between tabs and blanks and all the lines are different: OK.
Now: ignore all the white space.
All the lines (except the one with "high") should be "equal" but only the last 4 are shown as such!
(And this depends on how the last line is composed!)
N.B. (Problem unchanged in 7.0.1.12)

Re: Ignoring... almost
I have to disagree. The first 13 lines on the left are also missing a semicolon, hence the differences.

Re: Ignoring... almost
Gosh! You're absolutely right!
And I also used the line inspector!
I'm still convinced I saw something odd, but for now it's much better if I shut up.
Sorry.
