"Empty Files" option missing for new comparisons

Post by bleeper »

When you first start EDP, there is an bottom button named "Empty Files" so you can paste text in each side instead of referencing fixed files/directories. This is great, and I use it all the time.

If I do a comparison of a couple fixed files instead, and then want to do a new comparison using empty files, the option is no longer there, replaced with a "Cancel" button. I can't simply erase the file names to indicate that I want to use empty files, as it complains that it needs a file/directory path.

What is the procedure for comparing empty files after comparing existing files, other than to close and reopen the program?

You can use Files | Close Files menu command or Ctrl + L.
