Registry compare

Post by Nhill »

What I'm doing is exporting my registry, installing some software, then exporting the registry again and comparing the two. I need to identify the added or changed keys and then build a .reg file that contains them all for easy importation. This is easy for new keys, as I can filter, highlight copy and paste. But I have a problem with altered keys. If I filter, it just shows me the changed value, therefore I can't cut and paste to a .reg file. I need the key, which is filtered out. Is there some voodoo that can be done with the filters for this, or can an option specific to registry files be added? I could manually hunt down the keys I need and C&P them, but the whole idea behind this is to save time.
