Export problems

Post by MSpagni »

In the last beta, at least in the 32bit version, I'm not able to export the settings anymore!

Do you get an error? If so, what is it?

No errors.
The dialog closes as if everything was correct but nothing is saved, exactly as if I clicked "cancel".
I accept the suggested filename and, of course, I have full write rights in that directory.
(I tried some and also the desktop)

Does any name work? The only change made in this area was to change the default file name suggested to the user.

Nope. It seems the name is not important.

I have a doubt.
While I'm positive I saved (exported) the settings with the 64 bit version, I'm not sure I ever saved them in the (XP) 32 bit. Probably I never did it, so the problem is not new.

Sorry, my memory is quite volatile! :(

N.B. I also retried after a reboot, just in case...

It works for both 32- and 64-bit builds in our tests. EDP uses the "reg export" command to export the Registry key it uses.

:?: :?: :?: I don't know what to say.

The "old fashion" "export options to file" works fine.
You can find my options here attached.

What can I do to help?

N.B. In the registry,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSaveMRU\edps
contains:
C:\Tmp\ExamDiff Pro Settings-Feb-03-2014 22-06.edps
and also the other filenames i tried.

Try manually running the following command line command:

reg export "HKCU\Software\PrestoSoft\ExamDiff Pro" <output-file-name> /y

Thanks. So the issue was not 32-bit, it's XP. We'll have the fix in the next build.
