Number of differences is incorrect

Post by edav »

GREAT Program but I have a few questions relating to counts...

When I compare two text files the number of differences shown on the status bar is quite different from the actual number of changes.
It looks like any changes to sequental lines are grouped together and counted as a single change. Is this by design?
Is this something that is unique to the free version or does the pro version do this as well?

Thanks for this great program.

Yes, ExamDiff reports the number of diff blocks, which can be made of one or more lines. ExamDiff Pro does, in addition to this, report the number of changed lines and words/characters.
