This is by design: you get an exact copy of your text fragment, including linebreaks. If you didn't have LFs in the file, you are not going to get them in the clipboard. You did not understand me. I have <LF>-s, but I don't have <CR>-s. In this case <LF>-s are not copied into clipboard.

Some external file changes are not determined

Hello. If I'm comparing two files and use "COPY" command (from command prompt) to copy third file over one of the two, this event is determined by EDP v3.5.0.6-Beta, which is normal. But if I copy that third file by FAR Manager ("Use system copy routine" option is unchecked), the...

Updating file comparison panels after external change

Hello. When EDP determines external change in files being compared, it asks permission to update panels (according to "Ask" option). If I answer "No", previous versions did not ask the same question on further external updates till I do manual recompare. On the contrast, EDP v3.5...

<LF>-s are dropped on copy

Hello.

When I press <Ctrl>C on a selected fragment during panel editing of Unix text file (that does not contain <CR>-s), the fragment is copied into clipboard without linefeeds. EDP v3.5.0.6-Beta.

Thank you.

Re: Messengers in profile

1) Beginning from some unknown time, I don't see options to change messengers' attributes in my profile (ICQ/Yahoo/MSN/etc.), so I can't update them. Am I missing something? 1) Sorry, I was experimenting with this feature and accidentaly disabled it. I fixed it now (it's only enabled for registered...

2) It's defined by an option: Misc | After new compare scroll vertically to Yes, I have this option set to "First Difference". But I see the beginning of files at the beginning of comparison, not the first difference. If this helps, I don't use "Compare New Pair..." menu item fo...

1) Good catch, thanks. The fix in the latest build (3.5.0.4). I downloaded today http://www.prestosoft.com/download/edpro35beta.exe (this is the link from the beta page http://www.prestosoft.com/ps.asp?page=edp_download), but again got v3.5.0.2. Though it is slightly different from the previous v3....

Bug in comparison of 4 or 5 lines?

Hello. 1) I made 2 files, each has 4 or 5 lines, including blank lines. Below are the files: File1: Line1 Line2 Line3 File 2: Line1 Line1a Line2 Line3 Latest EDP beta shows that "Line2" of the 1-st file is equal to "Line3" of the 2-nd file. No Ignore options enabled. 2) Seems tha...

Manual synchronization in v3.5.0.0 Beta

Hello. 1) Seems that the new Manual Synchronization feature is usable only in case "Synchronize Vertical Scrolling (Files)" is OFF (currently I keep it always ON). Otherwise I can't understand how to say that line 84 on the left panel and line 109 on the right panel comprise synchronizatio...

Line feeds display in v3.5 Beta

Hello. Seems v3.5 Beta introduced a new feature: displaying line feeds. This may be helpful, but is their displaying is inevitable when "View Whitespace" option is ON? I'm asking because I always keep it on, but I don't want to see line feeds also. I suppose that it is very simple to make ...

The second comment is also ignored but since some lines is ignored, EDP first compares files without the ignored lines, then puts the ignored lines back into the files. When the second comment is merged back into the files, it becomes a part of the changed blocks that span 3 lines. You can still se...

Confirmation dialog looses focus

Hello. When you compare two files, and both files get externally changed, EDP asks a user (and I indeed want it to ask) to confirm recomparing via confirmation dialog window, which gets focus when you switch to EDP after external editing the files. 1) The first problem is that it asks twice (which i...

Confused with particular comparing example

Hello. I have two files. The first file: // Line 1: ab // Line 2: qw The second file: // Line 1: ax // Line 2: qx Ignoring options: - Lines matching regular expressions: ^//.* In this example I would expect both comments be ignored. But only the first comment is ignored, while the second one is show...
