Crash on manual sync

Hello. EDP v3.5.0.8 repeatedly crashes on the following example: File 1: # log2(double a) # File 2: # log2( double a ) # Trying to sync lines containing "log2". No ignores enabled. DrWatson report: eax=01520022 ebx=00e6901c ecx=00000000 edx=00048004 esi=0148f84c edi=00048004 eip=00412995 e...

psguru wrote:1) Very odd. Could you try another MFC-based program to see if Esc works for splitter? AFAIK, Textpad is one of them.
Didn't get Textpad (yet), but found that <Esc> works in EDP, though in other place: when I press <Esc> while dragging toolbar, it cancels dragging (as it should).

This is something odd. The basic splitting-cancelling functionality is supported by base MFC classes. This would mean that for some reason this functionality doesn't work for you with all MFC-based programs. Could you try to see if the escaping works with EDP 3.4.2? 1) No, it it does not work with ...

I'm already not sure which of 5 dumps from today relates to this problem (too late here). Probably this Both dumps point to the same fault address. That, however, doesn't make much sense to me (yet). Right. I saw that they lead to the same address, as well as 2 other (totally 4) that point to the s...

Did you manage to get the crash dump? Yes, even several. But: 1) I'm already not sure which of 5 dumps from today relates to this problem (too late here). Probably this: *----> State Dump for Thread Id 0xf9c <----* eax=dcbaabcd ebx=00000001 ecx=0012f010 edx=7ffb001c esi=015dfeb4 edi=0012eab8 eip=00...

psguru wrote:I understand that the Enter key works for both scenarios (dragging the splitter and dragging the links). But does Esc not work for both?
Exactly. It does NOT work for both scenarios.

Yes, I'll greatly appreciate this step, because it would be very helpful to me. You got mail in this forum :) ...Though could not use it for some time... It crashed when I opened registration window. This window had opened for paste, but I had no time to enter the information: EDP crashed. Same hap...

psguru wrote:One more question: what happens when you hit Esc while dragging the splitter itself?
I thought I told it... Didn't I? "Same is true about moving splitter position left/right (<Enter> sets the new position)."

psguru wrote:What happens when you press Esc or Return when dragging a link?
<Esc> - no reaction at all, as if I did not press a key.
<Enter> inserts the mark, as if I released the left mouse button.

Same is true about moving splitter position left/right (<Enter> sets the new position).

psguru wrote:3) Esc already cancels a dragging operation. Does it not for you?
No.

I use ExamDiff.exe v3.5.0.6 whose MD5 is 532B50762DE32BD12DA7BEAEDF78C20C.

The dump always helps, thanks. However, in this case the code in the crash doesn't seem to have a fault. I'm sure you saw that the situation in interest could happen only if both EAX and EBX are zero. EBX is initialized to 0 at 00443170, and is increased at 00443186. If I did not miss something, yo...

Is this reproducible (obviously, if we could reproduce the problem, I wouldn't ask)? If so, could you post (send) your files and options? Thanks. No, sorry. Could not reproduce it after crash. I hoped that since I beforehand increased the number of asm commands in DrWatson's dump, it could help you...

Recently I had to place manual sync on line, say, 200 in the left panel and on line 400 on the right panel. How to reach the right part after marking the left part? 1) We can use <Alt>+scrolling of the panels before starting to mark. This works. But what to do if I already placed a sync mark on the ...

No, I can't reproduce this. I tested a Unix file, and the text is copied with LFs only (try it with a binary editor, such as frhed ). 1) You are right. Though I tried it with several editors, they had the same problem. 2) Is there any workaround? Let's say I want to paste into our simple notepad. I...
