So you basically want to use ExamDiff Pro to visualize the patch... Yes, it is possible via plug-ins. Let's say that your patch files have extension "patch". Now create a plug-in with the following parameters (use your own location of the GNU Patch tool): Name: Patch Extensions: patch Appl...

Still can't reproduce this. Please try the latest build from the same location, http://www.prestosoft.com/download/ed34preview.zip . Some changes made there may help the problem.

Actually, running "ExamDiff.exe ExamDiff.exe ExamDiff.exe" produces almost instantaneous results in my testing -- binary comparison is much faster for identical files. When I tried comparing two different versions of EXP (3.4.1.5 vs. 3.4.0.8), the results were is follows: Block Size Time =...

OK, I see your point. But why another option? As we both agree, centering a diff is really making sure that the whole diff is centered -- if possible. If not, we'll do our best and put the first line of the diff to the top + 1 position. I think all users will benefit from such interpretation of &quo...

Hmm... I still can't reproduce this. Still, try the fix that will appear in the next build of 3.4. You can preview it at http://www.prestosoft.com/download/ed34preview.zip Options are here: http://www.geocities.com/alexl1118/edp01_options.txt Sorry, how did you mean to give them via the forum? This ...

The way currently works is as follows: 1. If "Scroll current diff to center" option is enabled, the first line of destination difference (next or previous, depending on what command is used) will be scrolled to the center of the pane. 2. If "Scroll current diff to center" option ...

Are you sure about this? I can't reproduce this problem. Perhaps you could provide more detailed steps. Also, sending your options exported to a file might help (you can do it via the forum).

- As for opinion - I'll be glad for any improvement. This is because any improvement will improve (hopefuly). The fix will be coming in the next build of 3.4. - As for bookmarks in general - the interesting thing is that before posting the original post I searched this sub-forum for bookmarks and d...

1) I suggest to position the current point at the middle of the screen during navigation using bookmarks - as it is done with navigation using differences. Maybe even give the similar option as it is given for differences ("Scroll current diff to center"). I checked both Textpad and Visua...

FtpVC does not really provide such kind of functionality. Perhaps what you are looking for could be also described in terms of "atomic transactions" that can be found in more advanced version control systems, such as Perforce. FtpVC, on the other hand, is a simple system that rather resemb...

Good observation. Yes, 3.4 uses a temporary file with options so that they are inherited by a child process. The latest 3.4 build has some performance improvements in this area. It's not yet officially released but you can check it out at http://www.prestosoft.com/download/ed34preview.zip
