This behavior is already built into the installer, which is based on Inno Setup, and uses "restartreplace" option for the Shell Extension DLL. This option is described in Inno Setup Help as follows: This flag is generally useful when replacing core system files. If the file existed before...

By the way: the mentioned link has date of 11-Mar-2007 (referring to v3.5.1.0) instead of 29-Apr-2007 (for v3.5.1.4). I don't know if it is intended. Yes. That was the date of the official release of 3.5. The later builds are minor maintenance releases. OK. Though somebody could still find some con...

Installation problem with v3.5.1.4

Hello. During the installation of v3.5.1.4 over v3.5.1.0 I got error message that the installer can't delete file C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro\EDPShell.dll Though EDP was not running, installer was right, and the reason is clear: the file was locked by explorer.exe. But I don't remember that I got ...

Thanks for changing links structure of the site

Hello. I'm very glad that the structure of links of this site has changed. In the previous version we had links like this: http://www.prestosoft.com/ps.asp?page=edp_history and now they are like this: http://www.prestosoft.com/edp_history.asp which makes them much more comfortable to work with - at ...

Hello. If I understood the question properly, the search gives articles with their respective forum names. E.g.: - Forum Topic Author Replies... - Forum Topic Author Replies... - Forum Topic Author Replies... Since "Forum" parts can be different, you can't add a new topic, because the foru...

Hello, please implement it as soon as possible! With this feature implemented I would see the REAL differences in my two projects. Now I see 80 to 100 differences in one file. It would help me a lot. We are here in Germany a REALLY BIG company (50.000 employees) and with this feature your applicati...

The 2-nd file is most probably "CmpExeAll.bat", and not "CmpExe.bat".

Can't find release notes for minor updates

Hello. When I see that there is a new beta version, I often download and install it. Sometimes I know what was the change from the forum messages, but sometimes I don't know what has changed. Why it is bad that we don't know what has changed? - If there were some bug fixes, we could have experienced...

Downloading plugins

Hello.

While EDP setup is downloading the plugins (which I told it to download), I'm writing this question: are there plans to include plugins in the main installation packet? This will allow to:
- Use download managers.
- Prevent downloading the same things by several users in a company.

Thank you.

Didn't get Textpad (yet), but found that <Esc> works in EDP, though in other place: when I press <Esc> while dragging toolbar, it cancels dragging (as it should).

This is something odd. The basic splitting-cancelling functionality is supported by base MFC classes. This would mean that for some reason this functionality doesn't work for you with all MFC-based programs. Could you try to see if the escaping works with EDP 3.4.2? 1) No, it it does not work with ...
