Thanks for the quick reply. The OOXML option was checked. I just found out that this behavior also results from .docx-docx and .doc-doc file comparisons. Just recently with ED 8.0, and now with 9.0, I get an error message saying that these are different binary files when comparing spreadsheets (see attachment). Run comparison in new instance from directory to file?
I am comparing two directories, and where the files are different, I'd like to see the file differences in a new instance, without losing my place in the directory compare. When I double-click the file name, the compare is done in the same instance. Is there any way to make that work?
