prestosoft.com offline?

https://www.prestosoft.com/ seems to be offline. This makes it impossible to download and order ExamDiff, and I think this slows down my ExamDiff-launch-time (I suppose it performs an update- and/or license-check?). Since the forum still seems active, and even mentions a new build (11.0.0.8, psguru ...

Re: split camparison panes over two monitors

I tried it and it is correct, thanks.
(Too bad my license turns out to end June 26 2009, but it's a bug I think I can cope with.)

Re: split comparison panes over two monitors

[I wonder whether I should open a new thread, but I guess I won't.] I think Shift-resizing (that will keep the center splitter position, in stead of the left window position) was added in EDP 3.5.2 . However, I just upgraded to 4.5.2.1, and it seems to have disappeared. Even worse, Shift-resizing se...

Re: "Re-synching" the compare?

This is already possible.
Cool. My mistake.
But some changes in that direction will be coming in the next version.
Looking forward to it.

Re: "Re-synching" the compare?

I think Poppa means to say that line 21236 has been _manually_ inserted on the left _after comparison_. Manual editing does not result in an automatic re-sync, probably because you may want to change something more before doing a complete recompare (which can take a long time on large files). You ca...

saving file from filter-view

When saving in filter view, only the differences of the file are saved. After a search&replace, I typically compare the old and new file-versions. I sometimes have to reverse some replacements I did not anticipate. Before finishing I use the view filter, to only show the differences. However, if...

tabs per document type

I just discovered that one can use tab to indent and unindent a selected block of text. I figured out that setting the tab-length for a document type (in View > Options > Document Type) changes the length of the (un)indentation. However, I have some questions/requests to change tab-behavior: - would...

The File Selection dialog is simply trying to use the name as a filter. Then I would suggest not defaulting to "??", but using an empty string. (Or is that just an ancient setting I'm carrying along?) Pressing enter when this FileSelect-button is selected does not open this dialog. You sh...

bug: file-type-filter on undefined external editor

When browsing for an external editor, with the dialog-window opened by: Edit > Options > Misc > external editor - Command: FileSelect-button The dialog-window file-type-filter (*.exe;*com) is not always applied, on the contrary: no files are shown, not even *.exe. After changing the filter it to *.*...

Keep dialog settings for selecting a file

When selecting a (second) file I sometimes have a whole bunch of files to look for (Delphi keeps directory with a history of previous saves). When searching for the right one, I have to select the Details-View to see the File-timestamp. If I happen to guess the wrong timestamp, I'll try another one....

Ok, thanks. (I forgot about these settings, but it was set at "previous position" and I would think that means practically the same?

Oh, FWIW, I keep my position, but I loose my selection. Maybe you would want to change that?

Anyway, I got it to work, so thanks!

Request: keep view position when changing view filter

I often turn on the view filter to quickly select the position in a file to go to. Then I turn the view filter off to review the code at that the position. When toggling the view filter, EDP will always go to the top of the view. However, it does remember the present cursor and the present diff posi...

This option does not seem to do what I expect, so I'll explain a bit more: I'm using StarTeam 2005 R2 with ExamDiff Pro 3.5 as an alternate comparison application, using (command line) options: $file1 $file2 . This $file1 and $file2 are replaced by some temp-filename by StarTeam. Now I added "-...
